Plaster

Plaster is a natural resource, made from Gypsum rock. Why is plaster is commonly referred to as Plaster of Paris? this was due to the extensive mining in Montmartre in the Paris in the 1700s for the production of plaster. Plaster was used to fire proof walls after the frequent fire hazards in Paris. However, plaster dates back 7000 years even before the Egyptians used it, for the making of their pyramids, the sarcophagus and other structures.
